Bedwetting (Nocturnal Enuresis) is common among children and young people, but with the right support, it can be effectively managed. Alarm-based training is one of the most successful methods for helping children stay dry through the night.
The Welcare Stay-Dry Alarm looks like a simple, child-sized watch and is worn on the arm. Two discreet sensors are looped through the pajama sleeve and clipped to the underwear to detect the first signs of moisture. When wetness is detected, the alarm sounds or vibrates to wake the child, helping them learn to respond to the sensation of a full bladder.
Using the included Progress Chart and reward stickers, you can track progress and reinforce positive behavior. With consistent use, most children learn to either wake up when their bladder is full or hold their bladder until morning. Once the child stays dry for 14 consecutive nights, the training is typically complete.
How to Use the Alarm
Select your desired mode (Sound & Vibration or Vibration Only) using the mode switch.
Attach the alarm to the child’s upper arm with the adjustable band. Ensure it fits snugly but comfortably.
Pass the cord under the child’s pajama top to prevent any risk of entanglement.
Clip the sensor to the child’s underwear or pajama pants in the area most likely to be wetted. Make sure the clip is firmly closed and the cord does not restrict movement.
At the first sign of moisture, the alarm will activate, and the LED indicator will flash blue.
Once awake, the child should go straight to the toilet. Then, turn off the alarm and remove the clip.
Battery Information
The rechargeable battery takes approximately 2–3 hours to charge. It lasts up to 7–8 hours in Vibration Only Mode and up to 4.5 hours in Sound & Vibration Mode.
