The AirPhysio® Average Lung Capacity device aids in the removal of mucus from the lungs, making it easier to breathe. As a compact hand-held lung conditioning device, it loosens stubborn mucus to open up and clear semi-closed airways. This version of AirPhysio® is recommended for most people (unless you have a severe lung condition or very low lung capacity. Utilising the airway clearance techniques that doctors have been using in hospitals for years, the Oscillating Positive Expiratory Pressure (OPEP) device is a simple, yet effective lung training tool that loosens and mobilises thick mucus in the airways which makes it hard to breathe. Reasons you'll love this award-winning, Australian-made and owned AirPhysio® mucus clearance and lung expansion device: Drug and chemical-free Has adjustable resistance to accommodate different lung conditions Compact and portable, making it easy to carry and use on the go Requires no batteries or refills Easy to use, with clear instructions and intuitive controls Easy to clean, with removable parts that can be washed and sterilised when needed Affordable compared to the ongoing cost of doctors and specialist appointments or expensive hospital visits and pharmaceuticals Important Note: The AirPhysio® Average Lung Capacity device is NOT an inhaler, nebuliser, spirometer, spray or puffer, and does not require a prescription. Australian made, owned and invented. How To Use 1. Take a deep abdominal breath and fill your lungs completely 2. Hold your breath for 2 to 3 seconds 3. Place the AirPhysio® in your mouth and exhale at a consistent pace for 3-5 seconds until you empty your lungs. Take it easy and don’t blow too hard. Blowing too quickly or too hard may overexert your lungs and make you feel tight in the chest. 4. The aim is to make the steel ball oscillate (move) so it lifts slightly off the cone. Most people can achieve this without too much exertion, but it may take a little while to train up your lung capacity. 5. Adjust the device so the cap faces the ceiling and tilt it until you achieve maximum vibrations in your chest. To amplify the effect in your chest, try to keep your cheeks fully expanded. 6. After exhaling through the device, you may feel mucus gathering at the back of your throat or near the top of your lungs. If so, cough to expel the mucus. 7. Repeat steps 1 to 6 approximately 2 times per minute for up to 5 minutes. To reduce the chance of feeling lightheaded, take two deep breaths between each session. Product Warnings: Keep out of the reach of children and do not allow the AirPhysio® device to be used by unsupervised children. The device is designed to be pulled apart for cleaning for multiple uses. Because of this, some of the small parts like the stainless steel ball and circular cone pose a choking hazard.
