Aquacel Foam is a multi-layered sterile dressing designed for managing exuding wounds. It combines a soft, absorbent foam pad with a unique Hydrofiber interface that gels on contact with wound fluid. This action helps to create a moist healing environment, lock in exudate to prevent leakage, and micro-contours to the wound bed, providing comfort and promoting healing while a waterproof top film acts as a barrier to external contaminants.
Features
Waterproof and bacteria barrier allows for showering and protects the wound from external contamination.
Soft absorbent foam pad enhances patient comfort and manages excess fluid.
Hydrofiber interface gels on contact with wound exudate to maintain a moist healing environment.
Gentle silicone adhesive provides secure, skin-friendly adhesion and allows for easy, atraumatic removal.
Locks in wound exudate, reducing the risk of maceration to the surrounding skin.
How To Use
Before application, clean the wound area with a suitable wound cleanser and thoroughly dry the surrounding skin.
Select a dressing size that ensures the central absorbent pad is larger than the wound area.
Remove the dressing from its sterile packaging, taking care to minimize contact with the wound contact surface and adhesive.
Peel off the release liner. The dressing may be cut to a specific shape if required.
Position the dressing so the center of the pad is directly over the wound.
Gently smooth down the adhesive border to ensure it is securely in place.
The dressing should be changed as clinically indicated (e.g., if there is leakage, bleeding, or increased pain), with a maximum recommended wear time of up to seven days.
Warnings
This dressing should not be used on individuals who are sensitive to or have had an allergic reaction to the dressing or its components. Not for use on third-degree burns. Sterility is guaranteed unless the package is damaged or opened prior to use. This is a single-use product.
