Mepitel is a gentle, one-sided wound contact layer designed to minimise pain and trauma associated with dressing changes. Featuring Safetac technology, it adheres gently to dry skin without sticking to the moist wound bed, ensuring easy removal. Its transparent and flexible design allows for comfortable wound inspection and conforms to body contours, while the porous structure allows exudate to pass through to a secondary absorbent dressing.
Features
Features Safetac technology for minimised pain and trauma during dressing changes.
Adheres gently to surrounding skin but not to the moist wound, preventing skin stripping.
Transparent design allows for easy wound assessment without removing the contact layer.
Can be left in place for up to 14 days, depending on the wound condition, which reduces the frequency of dressing changes.
Conforms well to body contours, providing patient comfort.
Porous structure allows wound exudate to pass vertically into a secondary absorbent dressing.
How To Use
Cleanse the wound in accordance with clinical practice and dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
Select a dressing size that overlaps the wound margin by at least 2 cm onto the surrounding skin. Mepitel may be cut to size if necessary.
Grip both overlapping release films and carefully remove them.
Apply Mepitel with the tacky side to the wound. Smooth the dressing in place onto the surrounding skin to ensure a good seal.
Apply a secondary absorbent dressing on top of Mepitel.
Fixate the dressings in place with a suitable bandage or other fixation method.
